A New Engine for the Flagship GTS

The new GTS 310 has landed, declaring itself the Vespa to beat all records: It is the most powerful, responsive and rapid ever made in the near 80-year history of the Vespa.

Using the state-of-the-art liquid-cooled 278cc engine as a starting point, this extraordinary unit introduces further key improvements, with more than 70% of the components completely new, along with new dimensions which usher in new and improved performance.

The stroke of the single-cylinder increases from 63 to just over 70 millimeters, boosting the displacement from 278 to 310cc and the power to 25 horsepower. The torque has also been increased, and the longer stroke offers even greater flexibility when riding.

These technical advancements serve to further enhance the already extraordinary ease of riding the Vespa. The torque — which is delivered even at low speeds and is available as soon as the throttle is opened — gives the scooter powerful yet progressive acceleration when navigating urban environments that require the rider to slow down and then speed up again, and while the vibration and noise levels were already minimal on previous models, the new engine slashes these even further.

All in all, this engine represents a clear technical evolution that provides completely new riding sensations when in the seat of the Vespa GTS 310, combining power and smoothness and rendering every ride even more effortless and enjoyable. The “Sporting Gran Turismo” qualities of the Vespa flagship scooter are thus enhanced by unprecedented performance levels and an even more thrilling ride.

Accordingly, the new engine ensures that the Vespa GTS is as ideal for metropolitan environments as it is for the weekend trips or summer escapes that have always been a core part of the Vespa’s character.

Among other components, the power train incorporates new injectors, a tilted cylinder, a new starting system and a crankcase design that significantly reduces mechanical and drive belt noise. The new engine meets the Euro 5+ standard and is not only more powerful but also more efficient, further reducing fuel consumption and emissions.

As such, the new GTS 310 serves to reiterate Vespa’s status as a technological leader. The continuous efforts to ensure that the Vespa is always fitted with the best technological solutions of the time is one of the secrets to its success — a success that can be measured in the 19 million-plus units sold across all continents of the world, or the 2 million new Vespas that have rolled out onto the roads across the globe in the last decade alone.

This success has made Vespa an icon of the contemporary world, which remains impervious to passing fashions and trends.

Style and Functionality

The lines of the GTS strike a delicate balance between tradition and modernity and are refined with obsessive attention to even the smallest details: This has served to raise the perceived quality of every part of the Vespa family’s flagship bike.

As has been the case throughout Vespa’s history, the full-steel bodywork also acts as a chassis, bearing the weight of the centrally-mounted engine unit and the mechanical parts. This totally unique construction philosophy is the key to Vespa’s unrivaled robustness, as well as its one-of-a-kind safety and dynamism. The ride is always superb, whether in the city or out of town, and the Vespa skillfully combines excellent handling with reassuring stability, thanks in part to the generously-sized tires fitted on the 12-inch rims and the disc brake system on both wheels.

The Vespa GTS is equipped with an advanced ASR system — the electronic traction control function that prevents rear wheel spin. The package of electronic safety controls is completed by the anti-lock braking system (ABS); both are fitted as standard across the entire Vespa GTS family.

The graceful handlebar, which has always been one of the key stylistic features of the various Vespa models, incorporates the characteristic full-LED round headlamp, while the controls are grouped across two chrome-plated command units, evoking the handlebar gearbox of early Vespa models — a solution that enables the rider to manage the various commands in a simple, intuitive manner. The overall clean feel of the styling continues behind the countershield, where the keyless system knob replaces the traditional ignition switch and the black dashboard surface is united in a single element which integrates the bag hook in its center.

At the rear of the bike, the light cluster features LED direction indicators and a tail light that creates a distinctive square light profile.

The Vespa GTS 310 is fitted with a seat that offers a higher level of comfort, and the rider benefits from optimized ergonomics, making it easier to place his or her feet on the ground; meanwhile, the passenger seat is spacious and inviting. The compartment in the countershield adds to the load capacity of the Vespa GTS 310: Inside is a USB port, for recharging a mobile phone or other electronic devices.

Versions and Colors

The Vespa GTS comes in four distinct versions designed to reflect the lifestyle of the rider in the seat.

Vespa GTS

2025 Vespa GTS 310

The most classic version of the Vespa GTS is simplified and pared back yet sophisticated, and it comes in Beige Avvolgente, Nero Convinto and Verde Amabile metallic colors. Every detail is enhanced with stylish chrome plating, including the edge of the body, the typical “tie” shaped badge, the front suspension spring, the headlight surround and the exhaust muffler cover. The grey seat, with vertical heat-sealed seams on the seat and tone-on-tone stitching, matches the grips and rubber inserts on the footrests, which are also grey. The wheel rims are painted grey.

Vespa GTS Super

2025 Vespa GTS 310 Super

The Vespa GTS Super version adds a high level of sportiness, drawing on the heritage of legendary sports models such as the Vespa GS 150 of 1955, the Vespa 180 SS of 1965 right up to the T5 “Pole Position” of 1985. Immediately recognizable from its graphite-tone rims with diamond finish and the double-covered seat with piping, it comes in two shiny pastel colors: Bianco Innocente and Rosso Coraggioso, as well as the metallic Nero Convinto. The host of chrome finishes are complimented by sporty black details, such as the grips and rubber inserts on the footrests, as well as the front suspension spring.

Vespa GTS SuperSport

2025 Vespa GTS 310 SuperSport

The Vespa GTS SuperSport is the ultimate sports version of the Vespa. Its bold, edgy character is immediately clear from the graphite-colored rims with dedicated graphics and the range of black details, including the profile which runs around the edge of the bodywork. The typical “tie” shaped badge on the front shield boasts a new carbon-look finish, made even more striking by the fluorescent orange details. The seat is black and features a seat with horizontal heat-sealed seams and contrasting double stitching in fluorescent orange.

This model five different colors, further enhanced by specially-designed new graphics: the glossy colors Blu Eclettico and Bianco Innocente are accompanied by Grigio Travolgente Opaco, Nero Convinto Opaco and Verde Ambizioso Opaco.

Vespa GTS SuperTech

2025 Vespa GTS 310 SuperTech

The Vespa GTS SuperTech confirms the ultra-modern technological position, with the inclusion of a TFT color display and integrated Vespa MIA connectivity system as standard. Tech-forward, but classic in style, the GTS SuperTech offers modern solutions matched with timeless GTS style.

The SuperTech is available in three colors, each accented by an electric yellow giving the traditional style a more modern touch to complement the technological features: Bianco Innocente, Blu Energico, and Grigio Ottimista.

Always Connected with VESPA MIA

The VESPA MIA connectivity system (which comes as standard on the GTS Supersport and is available as an accessory across the entire GTS family) and the Vespa app connect iOS or Android mobile devices via Bluetooth to the Vespa on-board system, offering exclusive functions that provide an even more rewarding and fun riding experience.

Once the smartphone is connected, all notifications regarding incoming calls and messages are shown on the Vespa’s display. The system also enables the rider to manage calls via the convenient joystick on the command block and to use the smartphone voice commands to make calls or play music.

In addition to the infotainment functions, the app is also a superb source of useful information on the vehicle status, driving parameters and travel statistics, which can be viewed directly on the rider’s smartphone.

Accessories

As per Vespa tradition, the new GTS 310 is accompanied by a wide range of accessories that allow riders to personalize their bike and increase both comfort and functionality.

The arrival of the Vespa GTS 310 also ushers in the new Vespa Argentario helmet. This new exclusive jet helmet is made from ABS material, and features stylish chrome edging, a transparent main visor with scratch-resistant treatment and a comfortable inner sun visor. The new ventilation system helps to dissipate heat rapidly whilst keeping the inner fabric cool and comfortable. The inner lining can be easily removed and washed. In the best Vespa tradition, which focuses on sophistication and style, the Vespa Argentario helmet is available in a range of colors to perfectly match the scooter.

The 36 liter top box is painted to match the bodywork of the bike and comes with a padded backrest for optimal passenger comfort. As a stylish alternative to the top box, the Vespa leather bag, with special reinforced panels on the bottom and handles, is designed to be carried conveniently on the rear luggage rack. The bag is designed as an accessory to be carried in total comfort and is attached to the luggage rack via a quick release system.

The front and rear luggage racks, available in chrome or black finish, are among the most classic and popular accessories available for the Vespa. They serve as a bold and easily-recognizable symbol of Vespa’s personality and long tradition as a scooter made for traveling. As of this year, a new sporty version of the rear luggage rack is now available. A distinct sloping design over the rear light highlights the sporty lines of the GTS.

The perimeter kit and the front fender guard — protective components crafted from steel tubing — ensure the best possible protection for the Vespa and a strong aesthetic appeal; they are also available in chrome or black.

The on-board protection of the rider is ensured by the windshield, made from shock- and splinter-proof methacrylate and available in two different versions: high, for maximum protection, and medium.

For those who prefer more compact, sporty lines, a high-quality fairing is also available in a transparent or smoked version.

The leg cover is made from thermal material and is easy to install, ensuring riding comfort all year round. The accessories collection is completed by the non-slip, waterproof rubber mat, the outdoor vehicle cover and the electronic anti-theft device.

The sporty single-seater seat features a double-covered seat with water-repellent treatment and bold contrast stitching.

The VESPA MIA connectivity system, which comes as standard on the SuperSport version, is available as an accessory for the Vespa GTS and GTS Super.

For maximum comfort even during the winter season, heated Comfort+ grips and seat are available; these can be conveniently adjusted via the heated accessory management module. The latter requires the VESPA MIA system to operate and enables the rider to adjust the heating settings of the grips and seat via the switch cubes.

At EICMA 2024, Aprilia and Moto Guzzi confirmed the renewal and expansion of their range of motorbikes. From sporty riding to touring and from race tracks to the most arduous off-road routes, the new solutions on offer satisfy the need for adventure of all types of biker.

Vespa showcased all-new hi-tech versions which offer even more brilliant performance. The Piaggio scooter range has been expanded, with new engines and the all-new Liberty, an extensively revamped version of one of its best sellers.

The Key New Piaggio Group Solution at EICMA 2024

Aprilia Tuono 457

2025 Aprilia Tuono 457
2025 Aprilia Tuono 457

This new model uses the technical platform of the recently presented RS 457 as a base and is designed to meet the mobility and fun requirements of young motorcyclists all over the world. It’s the most non-conformist and rebellious Tuono that has ever been, and while it retains the core features of all Tuono bikes, the new model boasts an all-new look, designed to satisfy the needs and desires of the market at which it is aimed. It is distinguished by its record-breaking power/weight ratio (just 59 kilograms dry weight for 35 kilowatts of power) — the maximum possible for a motorbike that can be ridden with an A2 license — for an extremely fun and dynamic ride that is also easy and accessible to all.

The technical features are top-of-the-range: aluminum frame (the only one of its kind in this segment) and cutting-edge electronics, including Ride by Wire throttle, three Riding Modes, anti-lock brakes (ABS) and traction control. The Tuono 457 is powered by a generous latest-generation parallel twin-cylinder engine with a maximum power of 35 kilowatts (47.6 horsepower) at 9,400 rpm and torque of 43.5 newton-meters at 6,700 rpm, 82% of which is already available at 3,000 rpm.

Aprilia Tuareg Rally

2025 Aprilia Tuareg Rally
2025 Aprilia Tuareg Rally

This model is the most specialized Tuareg on the market, largely derived from the Aprilia Racing version of the bike, which won both the Africa Eco Race and the Italian Motorally championship. It is a true benchmark among two-cylinder bikes dedicated to the most demanding off-road conditions. Compared to the already superb Tuareg, the standard equipment is particularly impressive; clearly inspired by racing, it is designed for more off-road use and features a high front mudguard, a new aluminum sump guard, more robust hand guards and a new chain guide. The saddle and handlebars have been raised, making the bike more suitable for riding whilst standing. The spoked wheels feature a narrow Ergal channel and are fitted with tube-type tires, while the Kayaba suspension with its notable 240 millimeters of travel is fitted with internal components designed for enduro use. The engine has been updated in several areas and now features more direct off-road mapping. The SC Project exhaust has a titanium muffler, while the weight is just 199 kilograms in running order.

New Aprilia Factory Range

2025 Aprilia RSV4 Factory
2025 Aprilia RSV4 Factory

The Factory name sets the most exclusive, premium versions of Aprilia sports bikes apart from the competition. These models are recognized by fans for their racing-derived refinement, which translates into a unique riding experience both on the track and on the road.

The new RS 660 is now also available in the Factory equipment versions and has Öhlins multi-adjustable suspension as standard, as well as dedicated graphics. All versions of the RS 660 now have numerous new features. The fairing is fitted with new aerodynamic wings that increase stability, while the on-board electronics — which were already top-of-the-range on the previous version — now come with launch control and a new color instrument panel. With a more powerful 105-horsepower engine and a weight of just 183 kilograms in running order, the power-to-weight ratio has also been further optimized.

The same new features fitted on the RS 660 Factory can also be found on the Tuono 660 Factory, which is better suited to everyday use and fun on the road, with its high handlebars and naked setup. The new Aprilia V4 Factory bikes serve as a benchmark in their respective categories and come equipped with solutions which are derived directly from Aprilia’s experience in MotoGP. The Tuono V4 Factory boasts a new design with advanced aerodynamics, a new APRC electronic control package with predictive functions and a new color instrument panel. The V4 engine has been boosted to 180 horsepower, which can be used to the full, thanks to the chassis inspired by Aprilia’s experience on race tracks all over the world.

The jewel in the crown of this range is the new Aprilia RSV4 Factory, the record-breaking sports bike and most powerful mass-produced type-approved superbike in the world, courtesy of a V4 engine which can now deliver an astonishing 220 horsepower. The aerodynamics are also new, with MotoGP-style winglets, boosting stability and grip when cornering. The RSV4 Factory also features the new-generation active control systems with adaptive and predictive features, which can adjust the degree to which the controls intervene in a calibrated, controlled manner, in accordance with the conditions and riding style.

New Aprilia 125 Range

Aprilia is the only brand that can boast four different 125 bikes in its range, each dedicated to a different type of use: the sporty RS, the naked Tuono, the enduro RX and the supermotard SX. All four are presented at EICMA in their latest incarnations. The RS 125 and the Tuono 125 are the only made-in-Italy eighth-liter bikes that feature aluminum frames; these models continue Aprilia’s sporting tradition and now boast new equipment, including traction control and ABS on both wheels, increasing safety to the levels seen on higher-category bikes. The single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with four-valve timing has been overhauled in terms of its fine-tuning and now offers the same best-in-class performance as its predecessor, despite complying with the stricter Euro 5+ regulations: 15 horsepower (11 kilowatts) at 10,500 rpm and 11.5 newton-meters at 8,500 rpm — benchmark values in the category. Also new are the color variants now available. The SX 125 and RX 125 feature an all-new design both in terms of their superstructure and equipment, including full-LED lights and a new digital color instrument panel. The rims, tires and a braking system of the SX 125 are best suited to high-thrills road riding, while the equipment of the RX 125 makes it better for off-road use.

Moto Guzzi V7 Sport

The V7 range has been completely revamped, with a new model that bears a legendary Moto Guzzi name: the new V7 Sport, the most dynamic, hi-tech V7 ever, with double front disc brake, inverted fork, inertial platform, Ride by Wire electronic throttle and dedicated Sport Riding Mode. Moto Guzzi’s most iconic model may have changed, but it still retains its authentic charm, with timeless styling which includes the classic metal tank and the inimitable design of its sculptural 90-degree V-twin transverse engine, with improved performance but the same unique character. ABS, traction control and cruise control also come as standard.

New Piaggio High-Wheel Scooter Range

2025 Piaggio Liberty

The Piaggio brand presented its range of high-wheel scooters at EICMA.

The Piaggio Liberty is one of brand’s most beloved and popular scooters and debuted an all-new style with improved equipment, including a digital color instrument panel and a new handlebar that has been designed to increase ease and comfort of riding. It is available in two engine sizes: 50cc and 150cc, which are also equipped with ABS.

The Beverly is now available with the gutsy new 310cc engine and 27.7-horsepower maximum power. The new engine, with more than 70% new components compared to the previous version, also boasts improved torque values, combining power and smooth delivery for an even more thrilling ride that is also easier and more relaxed. The Piaggio Medley — an agile, lightweight high-wheeler — has broken into a new displacement class with the introduction of the Medley 200; with a power of 13 kilowatts and torque of 16.5 newton meters, it offers a brilliant, flexible ride. The ABS and Start & Stop systems are included as standard.

Vespa GTS 310

2025 Vespa GTS 310

While remaining an eternal symbol of Italian style and an icon of elegance, the Vespa continues to upgrade to the best technology. The flagship GTS is now the most powerful and responsive Vespa ever made in the near 80-year history, and the new 310cc engine is at the core of this evolution. Using the state-of-the-art liquid-cooled 278cc engine as a base, this unit represents a significant development, with more than 70% new components, new dimensions and new and improved performance as a result.

The stroke of this single-cylinder engine has been increased from 63 millimeters to just over 70 millimeters, boosting the displacement from 278cc to 310cc and the power to 25 horsepower. The torque has also increased and, thanks to the longer stroke, it now offers a more flexible ride. The technical and stylistic features, which had been completely revamped not long ago, remain unchanged, reaffirming Vespa’s tradition of continually updating its scooters to incorporate the latest technology.

Technical and Lifestyle Apparel

The Piaggio Group’s motorcycling brands, Aprilia and Moto Guzzi, also introduced rich collections of technical and lifestyle apparel. Developed in collaboration with Alpinestars, Aprilia’s technical collections are designed to support riders on the track, on the road and on the most demanding off-road trails. The Moto Guzzi collection, featuring classic lines, is composed of two lines of technical clothing that combine functionality with a distinctive, sporty style. Vespa also released its new helmet line.

The post The New 2025 Piaggio Liberty appeared first on Motorcycle & Powersports News.

]]>
Twenty-seven years after the launch of the first model and with over 1 million units sold globally, Piaggio Liberty has been completely redesigned. It thus cements its place as an ideal choice for young people stepping into the world of independent mobility, for female riders who have significantly contributed to its popularity, and for anyone of any age in need of a practical and reliable commuting solution.

The new Liberty comes in two engine sizes (the classic 50cc and 150cc) and two configurations: standard and the S (Sport) version, which features more dynamic finishes.

Liberty has long been distinguished by its elegant and refined style, and this latest evolution further enhances its heritage with an unmistakably Italian design.

New lines shape this mechanical marvel, endowing the Liberty with a thoroughly modern personality while still connected to the scooter’s legacy as the pioneer of the high-wheel segment.

The front end of the Liberty has received a significant redesign, imparting a new dynamism and sport character. The new horizontal LED headlight — highly technical and assertive — blends seamlessly into the design, creating a striking feature that enhances the scooter’s modern and robust appearance.

A signature Piaggio element, the “central tie,” now features a honeycomb grille, visually connecting Liberty with its “bigger brothers,” the Beverly and Medley.

Viewed from the side, the compact, sleek lines elegantly link the more robust front with a streamlined rear. The passenger handles from previous Liberty models have been replaced by a new, elegant aluminum element that can accommodate the rear top box and whose design influences the scooter’s overall dimensional impression.

The new Liberty surpasses the already remarkable comfort and ease of riding offered by previous versions. The ergonomic triangle of seat, handlebar grip and foot positioning have been redesigned to enhance riding comfort and provide complete control of the scooter. The vehicle’s control is improved in all conditions, thanks to the newly raised handlebar and a more upright posture.

The new handlebar enhances ride quality and houses the new full LCD instrument cluster, blending functionality with design.

The instrument cluster is now entirely digital, featuring a new 5-inch color dashboard with both Day and Night modes. This offers complete control over Liberty’s features and efficiently organizes information, including average and instant fuel consumption, and a trip computer that displays journey and mileage data.

Liberty’s new style is enhanced by its large wheels, measuring 16 inches at the front and 14 inches at the rear. The new three-spoked split rim design introduces a fresh and elegant touch of sportiness.

Chassis

The Liberty chassis benefits from Piaggio’s expertise in designing premium scooter frames. Constructed from high-strength steel tubing, this robust, tried and tested structure, combined with Liberty’s lightweight build, ensures exceptional maneuverability and ease of riding. With a generous wheelbase of 1,350 millimeters for the 150cc model and 1,370 millimeters for the 50cc version, riders experience a strong sense of stability and security at all speeds.

Lightness and stability are the two dynamic qualities that make Liberty safe for everyone and suitable for riders of any experience level.

The large 16-inch front wheel has a high-profile tire (90/80), while the 14-inch rear wheel boasts a generous 100/80 tire. This arrangement reflects a deliberate technical choice to improve handling, increase maneuverability and reduce fuel consumption. Thanks to the high front tire profile, the wheel and tire dimensions provide optimal comfort, absorbing bumps effectively. The braking system features a 240-millimeter front disc operated by a dual-piston caliper and a 140-millimeter rear drum, ensuring prompt, effective braking that remains safe and manageable, even for first-time riders. The 150cc version comes with anti-lock brakes (ABS).

Engines

Piaggio Liberty is available in two engine versions: 50cc and 150cc. Each engine class offers impressive performance, quality, reliability, economical operation, low emissions and reduced noise. All Liberty engines are advanced four-stroke, air-cooled models with electronic fuel injection. Every component, from the new exhaust to the transmission cover design and air filter, is engineered to deliver a smooth, quiet and comfortable ride.

The lightweight and agile 50cc version is ideal for young riders, including first-time users, as an entry point. This four-stroke engine is exceptionally user-friendly and economical, consuming just 2.5 liters/100 kilometers on the WMTC cycle.

The 150cc model are powered by an air-cooled, single-cylinder, four-stroke engine with a three-valve single overhead camshaft configuration (two intake, one exhaust) and an enhanced electronic fuel injection system. The optimized injector positioning further boosts emissions performance. These engines are developed at Piaggio Group’s research and development center.

The design process focused on reducing friction and improving fluid dynamics to maximize performance while reducing fuel consumption. Additionally, the throttle body positioning has been updated with a newly optimized intake line sizing. This results in fuel consumption of just 2.7 liters per 100 kilometers for the 150cc model. The figure is based on the WMTC cycle.

The three-valve distribution, regarded as the most effective configuration, enhances intake, boosting engine efficiency compared to more conventional two-valve engines.

The highly advanced fuel injection system features automatic idle control, continuous mixture management and dual lambda sensors to meet the Euro 5+ standard. The new Liberty is even more environmentally friendly, with stable emissions throughout its lifecycle.

A state-of-the-art engine control unit (ECU) manages the ignition timing, mixture and phasing maps. The engine operates exceptionally quietly, aided by a silent and efficient freewheel electric starter.

Versions and Colors

The new Liberty is available in two distinct versions.

Piaggio Liberty is available in Bianco Luna and Nero Abisso. The rear rack, exhaust cover and rear-view mirrors are matte black. The wheels, side trims, rear light frame, indicators and the new Liberty logo are all styled with an elegant satin effect.

Piaggio Liberty S offers four colors: Bianco Luna, Nero Meteora, Grigio Materia and Blu Ardesia.

The wheels, side trims, rear light frame, indicator frames and the new Liberty logo are finished in glossy black in the S version. Certain elements, including a rim detail and the trim around the “tie” on the shield, are highlighted in glossy blue.

A Comprehensive Range of Accessories

The new generation of Piaggio Liberty arrives with a new range of accessories, fully redesigned to meet modern quality standards and technological advancements, befitting a best-seller.

 • The new Demi Jet Urban Life helmet: Designed for urban commuting, it combines safety with style and is available in five colors to perfectly match Piaggio Liberty.
 • Piaggio MIA: This latest version of the Piaggio Multimedia Platform (PMP 3.0) easily connects your smartphone (Android or iOS) to Liberty. With the dedicated app, you can manage all vehicle and trip information and functions. In addition to call and music management, which integrates with Liberty’s digital instrument cluster, the platform lets you view a comprehensive range of trip information and the scooter operating status on your smartphone. It also features a convenient location-saving function that activates when the ignition is off, making locating the scooter in busy city areas easier. The app records all data, which you can review directly on your smartphone via summary statistics.
 • Top box: With a capacity of 31 liters, this classic accessory is now even more practical on the new Liberty, equipped with a quick-release mechanism that requires no installation kit. The painted top box cover matches the vehicle’s color, and the backrest complements the seat’s color and material, enhancing passenger comfort.
 • Windshield: Made from 4-millimeter, impact-resistant, anti-chip methacrylate, the windshield includes integrated handguards. Designed by the Piaggio Style Centre, it blends seamlessly with Liberty’s styling.
 • Flyscreen: Piaggio-tested and approved, this flyscreen offers added protection while enhancing Liberty’s front design. Crafted from 4-millimeter impact-resistant methacrylate, it is available in transparent and smoked versions.
 • Leg cover: Specifically designed for the new Liberty, this leg cover fits securely and has an anti-flap system for maximum protection. It also includes a steel cable anti-theft system and a waterproof seat cover.
 • Rubber mat: Perfectly contoured to fit Liberty’s footrest, it is made from non-slip material for added safety.
 • Vehicle cover: A water-resistant material used to shelter the vehicle outdoors. It includes openings to accommodate accessories like the top box and windshield.
 • Side stand: Complete with anti-start safety sensor.

The post New Piaggio MP3 310 appeared first on Motorcycle & Powersports News.

]]>
The Piaggio MP3 310, the third generation of the original three-wheel scooter, has been introduced with a new design. Following the debut of the new “maxi” versions with 400 and 530 cc engines respectively in 2022, the scooter is lighter and more agile, aiming to improve urban mobility with enhanced comfort, safety and driving pleasure.

With the new Piaggio MP3 310, which features advanced technology and a sporty, car-centric style, the MP3 range is now more coherent, modern and technologically advanced. It offers a practical and safe alternative to cars.

Piaggio MP3 Highlights

 • New sporty design
 • New 310 HPE engine
 • Full LED lighting
 • LCD instrument panel
 • New user interface
 • Keyless system
 • New, more comfortable saddle
 • New line of dedicated accessories

The Piaggio MP3 310 boasts a compact and sporty design while maintaining high levels of comfort and technical content. It can be driven with a normal driving license, thanks to Piaggio’s three-wheel technology, front articulated quadrilateral suspension system and double front wheel. These features provide superior cornering stability and excellent road holding, especially on wet asphalt.

The compact dimensions and handling of the Piaggio MP3 310 can be appreciated both in maneuvering while stationary – making parking super easy – and while moving, where it boasts enhanced agility.

The scooter is equipped with an all-new 310 HPE engine, type-approved according to the Euro 5+ standard. The engine has an increased cubic capacity (310 cc instead of 278 cc) and various features designed to enhance the driving experience, including improved performance, ride comfort and drivability, along with reduced fuel consumption.

A Unique Style for the Entire Range, Inspired by the Automotive World

The design of the Piaggio MP3 310 sets it apart from its predecessors with a broader and more protective front. It features a new horizontal front light cluster with full LED technology, a smaller, sportier air intake with a three-dimensional honeycomb grille and a vertical spoiler for greater stability and higher maximum speed. The windscreen is also new, designed to guarantee maximum protection with limited bulk.

The vehicle also nods to a number of the latest trends in automotive design, from the sporty front end to the mudguards – which feature body-colored elements in the Sport version – and the rims, which feature a new design with five split spokes. The bold front is offset by a sleek, streamlined tailpiece, which integrates the comfortable passenger grab bar and ends with the modern full-LED rear light cluster.

Comfort and Functionality

The Piaggio MP3 310 includes a new user interface with a large 5-inch LCD display showing all necessary information, such as speedometer, rev counter, odometer, air temperature, digital clock, fuel level and coolant temperature indicators. The panel displays a wide range of information regarding the trip, which can be selected using the MODE button on the right-hand control block: highest speed, average speed, instantaneous consumption, average consumption, battery range and charge level. The warning lights, on the other hand, monitor all the functions such as “injection check,” fuel reserve, oil pressure, ABS activation and immobilizer. The handlebar and dashboard controls have been repositioned for practicality and functionality.

2025-piaggio-mp3-310-2

It also features a glove compartment with a USB connection for recharging devices and a keyless system for easy ignition and access. This enables the ignition to be switched on without having to insert the traditional key, simplifying all the operations like starting the engine, opening the seat and the fuel door and locking the steering column, all of which can be done with the remote control conveniently in your pocket. The classic ignition switch with lock is replaced by a practical knob: to start the vehicle, simply press it (which activates the start enable function) and turn it to the “ON” position. Starting the engine is accomplished as usual with the button located on the right-hand control bock.

The saddle, with seating on two separate levels, has a new foam structure designed for improved comfort and easy contact with the ground and to help with rider lumbar support. The passenger position is laid back and relaxed, thanks in part to the practical fold-out foot boards which, when closed, integrate perfectly in the fairing.

The under-seat compartment is spacious enough to accommodate a full-face helmet or two demi-jet helmets. The saddle has a spring to keep it in the open position. A practical and discrete concealed bag hook finds a place integrated into the leg shield back plate.

Versions and Colors

The new Piaggio MP3 310 is available in two versions: the Piaggio MP3 310 and the Piaggio MP3 310 Sport.

Piaggio MP3 310

An icon of urban elegance, the Piaggio MP3 310 is available in two glossy colors: Bianco Luna and the all-new Grigio Grafite. Both are combined with new finishes in metallic satin grey. The saddle is specially designed with new textures and contrasting grey stitching to match the finishes.

Piaggio MP3 310 Sport

The Piaggio MP3 310 Sport boasts an even fiercer character, enhanced by the dedicated colors for these models: the matte metallic shade Nero Meteora is accompanied by the all-new Grigio Mercurio (shiny) and Blu Zaffiro, with matte finish.

2025-piaggio-mp3-310-1

The Sport version is completed by sporty blue accents, such as the contrast stitching on the saddle and the decals on the black rims; the finishes alternate glossy and matte black, further enhancing the sleek lines of the vehicle.

Front brake discs with wave profile and a foot board with aluminum inserts are included as standard, as is the Piaggio MIA connectivity system.

The Piaggio 310 HPE Engine – All the Benefits of Downspeeding

The new Piaggio MP3 310 is powered by an all-new, liquid-cooled, four-stroke, four-valve, single-cylinder engine with electronic injection. The 310 High Performance Engine (HPE) engine – the most recent Piaggio HPE – is designed to enable significant improvements in the riding experience across the board: superior ride comfort, improved drivability, less noise and even lower fuel consumption. All this is accompanied by a tangible improvement in performance.

These goals have been achieved by increasing the engine capacity from 278cc for the previous 300 HPE engine to 310cc for this version. This increase was attained by maintaining the bore and increasing the stroke. This has resulted in a less “sharp” engine – or in other words, an engine that is more focused on drivability than on achieving the highest possible maximum power output; that said, this still reaches an impressive 19.4 kilowatt (26.4 horsepower) at 7500 rpm. The maximum torque is 27.3 Newtonmeter, and this is reached at 6000 rpm. The maximum speed is also higher, achieved in part through the improved aerodynamics of the vehicle from the previous speed of 120 kilometers-per-hour to the new speed of 129 kilometers-per-hour.

Compared to the previous 300 HPE, the new engine boasts slightly higher maximum power and torque values, which are reached at a lower rpm. This is the result of the so-called downspeeding, resulting in an improvement in performance and drivability, but also in overall efficiency and comfort, with a reduction in vibration and noise.

The comprehensive overhaul of the engine, crankcase included, has also enabled changes to be made to the single-cylinder architecture, such as the offset of the piston. This solution, which staggers the working axis of the piston with respect to that of the crankshaft, reduces the friction between the piston and cylinder during the most critical drive phase, leading to an overall reduction in friction, with a positive effect on fuel consumption as a result. These values are lower than with the 300 HPE, going from 31.2 kilometers-per-liter to 32.3 kilometers-per-liter in the WMTC cycle.

Noise during the start-up phase was also a major area of focus. The elimination of the decompressor and the adoption of a more powerful starter motor along with a decompressed drive shaft provide a faster, quieter start. The design of the transmission split-crankcase has also been revised, again with a view to reducing noise.

The other features of the engine remain unaltered, with a single overhead camshaft timing system with roller rocker tappets and engine management via a latest-generation Magneti Marelli MIUG4 control unit, which helps to improve the overall efficiency.

The 310 HPE engine boasts the same famous levels of reliability of the modern HPEs, with maintenance scheduled every 10,000 kilometers.

Ultimate Safety: Three Wheels, ABS and ASR

Both models in the Piaggio MP3 310 range adopt the ABS anti-locking braking system integrated with Acceleration Slip Regulation traction control (ASR). The ASR, first brought to scooters by Piaggio, can be easily disconnected and guarantees safety by keeping the rear wheel from slipping on dangerous surfaces like wet asphalt.

The three channel ABS system, developed in collaboration with Continental, maximizes active safety preventing wheel blockage when braking and providing full control of the vehicle at all times. The Piaggio MP3 employs an all-disc braking system on the three wheels, with a disc diameter of 258 millimeters on the front and 240 millimeters on the rear. Greater safety and an even smoother ride are provided by the large 13-inch diameter front wheels.

The Piaggio MP3 also owes its success to exclusive patented Piaggio technology for the dual independent, tilting front wheels regulated by a unique four-bar linkage suspension, which ensure maximum riding pleasure in complete safety. The roll mechanism is made up of four fused aluminum arms linked to four hinges that are firmly connected to the central sleeve and two side sleeves connected to the arms by means of pivots and ball bearings. Inside the side sleeves, the right-hand and left-hand steering tube rotates in a classic single-arm set-up.

The blocking mechanism for the front suspension, a distinguishing feature of the three-wheel Italian scooter, transforms the balance of the Piaggio MP3 300 HPE from dynamic to static. Start up the vehicle and it stays in balance on the three wheels without the need for a stand. To resume normal operation, accelerate or use the dedicated push button. Riders never have to put their foot in the ground and can park the Piaggio MP3 310 anywhere.

Piaggio MIA: Connected at All Times by Smartphone

The PIAGGIO MIA connectivity system, offered as standard on the Sport version, allows you to connect your smartphone to the Piaggio MP3 310 on-board electronic system via Bluetooth, offering exclusive features for an even more rewarding and enjoyable riding experience.

PIAGGIO MIA and the new Piaggio app are specifically designed to connect iOS or Android mobile devices to the new Piaggio MP3 310, exploiting the potential offered by the new digital instrument cluster.

Once a smarthphone is connected – pairing it with the vehicle via the Piaggio app, which can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play – all notifications for incoming calls and messages appear on the instrument cluster. The system also enables call management using the specific connectivity button on the right-hand control block and the use of vocal commands to make calls or play music by activating a playlist. To fully enjoy all these features, the Piaggio MP3 310 offers a special dedicated Jet helmet as an accessory, with integrated headphones and Bluetooth intercom.

In addition to the call and music management functions, which use the bike’s digital instrument cluster, the PIAGGIO MIA multimedia platform allows you to use the dedicated app to view a further set of information about the route and the operating status of the vehicle. It also has a convenient system for saving the position when the ignition is off, which helps you find the scooter in the most crowded areas of town. The application can also indicate engine revs, instantaneous power and torque, current and average fuel consumption, battery voltage and an assessment of riding style.

All the data are recorded by the app and can be consulted directly on the smartphone through summary statistics for each trip and intuitive infographics. The app also lets you use your smartphone to conveniently activate the Bike Finder and Follow Me functions, which respectively make the turn indicators flash and the horn sound to easily find your vehicle even in the most crowded car parks and activate the low beam lights.

While the international customizing scene around BMW Motorrad focuses primarily on the BMW Motorrad Heritage models BMW R 18 and BMW R 12 nineT with inspiring creativity, high levels of craftsmanship and new ideas, Austria has now developed an extraordinary project based on the BMW CE 02. In collaboration with BMW Motorrad Austria in Salzburg, the Design & Makers Studio VAGABUND in Graz created the BMW CE 02 x VAGABUND, a stylish eParkourer based on the BMW CE 02 for urban areas.

“We were immediately in love when we saw the CE 02 for the first time at the BMW Motorrad Days in Berlin. The overall design of the CE 02 was simply a ‘perfect match’ for us, as we at VAGABUND are always trying to break new ground and reinterpret existing products in our own way. In this project, we would define the general design approach as a “retro-future.” We tried to combine the very futuristic original design with some retro vibes and thus give the viewer a familiar feeling,” Paul Brauchart, founder and managing director of Vagabund Moto GmbH, explained.

Futuristic Design Meets Retro Vibes

The custom bike made in Austria not only impresses with its unique, futuristic design but also with various functional “retro” elements, which were designed in a modern, fresh way and with a focus on a young target group. For example, the musical integration of the “OB-4 Magic Radio” from “Teenage Engineering” underlines the young and creative philosophy of custom bikes. The “electric exhaust” serves as a practical style element and visual highlight. This offers space for an umbrella. Design elements such as the running board with skateboard grip tape reflect the sporty, urban eParkourer style.

BMW Motorrad and VAGABUND create another absolute eye-catcher with the custom bike’s 3.6-meter high packaging. This is part of the overall concept.

The post Infinite Machine Introduces P1: First Edition appeared first on Motorcycle & Powersports News.

]]>
New York-based Infinite Machine launched the company’s newest electrified scooter with their new P1: First Edition. Engineered for urban mobility and conveniently traveling city environments, the new Infinite Machine P1: First Edition features best-in-class performance, an iconic futuristic design, next-generation technology and unparalleled utility. The limited edition run of 250 P1: First Edition scooters will be the second production run of the popular space-age inspired EV.

“We had great success with our original P1 production batch, and we want to build on that momentum by opening up further orders for deliveries next year,” said Eddie Cohen, co-founder of Infinite Machine. “We are also hosting a summer tour in New York, the Hamptons, Aspen, L.A. and San Francisco to expand our reach and showcase our scooters nationwide.”

P1 arose out of brothers Joe and Eddie Cohen’s dissatisfaction with existing two-wheel electric vehicles. On one side of the spectrum are plastic, low-end vehicles with subpar performance and rudimentary technology. On the other end are legacy companies who struggle to adapt to the possibilities of electrification, new technology and modern sensibilities. As lifelong New Yorkers, the Cohen brothers saw an opportunity to build the ultimate vehicle for exploring and navigating their home city. With a team of engineers and designers, they designed the vehicle of their dreams, drawing inspiration from Brutalist architecture, consumer technology and artists like Donald Judd.

Featuring planar anodized aluminum panels and a powder-coated steel chassis, P1 is striking from every angle. It is the fastest vehicle in its class, reaching a top speed of 55 miles-per-hour with lightning quick acceleration from a six kilowatt motor (12 kilowatt peak) and a 3.2 kilowatt-hour, 72-volt battery system. Charging is easy with P1’s removable UL-certified battery, compatible with standard household outlets. Riders will get 60 miles of city riding on a full charge.

With this announcement, the company sheds more light on the technology that will be included in P1: an automotive-grade dashboard and infotainment system that runs Carplay—a first of its kind for two-wheelers—and InfiniteOS, its proprietary non-car operating system, which will get continuous over the air updates after customers receive their vehicles. Alongside the onboard computer are two cameras, front and back, for theft prevention, safety and content creation. P1 also uses GPS, along with mechanical and digital technologies for ensuring that vehicles are not tampered with. When customers are away from their vehicles, they can use P1’s iOS and Android apps for remote unlock access to the vehicle and with location tracking.

P1’s extensibility goes beyond software. It features a rear modular system that allows customers to customize it according to their specific requirements, adding extra cargo space and functionality as needed. Ample storage is integrated throughout the vehicle, providing storage for all essentials and offering the option to mount additional accessories, ranging from cargo carriers to loudspeakers. Whether it’s daily commuting essentials, groceries or recreational gear, P1 ensures that everything you need is easily accessible and securely stored.

P1 was designed to fit seamlessly into customers’ lives. It can be parked between two cars on any city street, and its removable battery allows for at-home charging. The vehicle can seat two passengers comfortably and can be operated for up to speeds of 30 mph with a standard driver’s license in the U.S. With a motorcycle license, a software unlock enables speeds of up to 55 mph.

“Our mission is to inspire a post-car future by building the best alternatives to cars. That starts with P1,” said Joseph Cohen, CEO of Infinite Machine. “We are excited to open Batch II up as we gear up towards production.” P1 blends an iconic design with thrilling performance and practical utility. Customers can order P1 today, with deliveries in 2025 for customers in the U.S. Interested potential customers outside of the U.S. can add their names to a waitlist. P1 First Edition starts at $10,000 with a $1,000 deposit due on order.

Introducing the Vespa Primavera Batik https://www.motorcyclepowersportsnews.com/introducing-the-vespa-primavera-batik/ Tue, 09 Jul 2024 18:00:00 +0000 https://www.motorcyclepowersportsnews.com/?p=202214 The Vespa Primavera Batik is a special edition model that evokes travel and the exploration of distant worlds.

The post Introducing the Vespa Primavera Batik appeared first on Motorcycle & Powersports News.

]]>
The Vespa Primavera Batik was born of a meeting of distant cultures united by a diverse and rare elegance. The timeless shapes of the Vespa Primavera are combined with the themes and patterns of Batik, the traditional Indonesian fabric, obtained by means of exclusive, precious manufacturing processes which are recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

The earliest evidence of the art and technique of Batik dates back to the 12th century. This particular fabric, which is either printed or decorated by hand, always uses beeswax. It has its origins on the island of Java and was initially used to embellish the clothing of the aristocratic classes, before spreading through the Indonesian archipelago. Today, Batik remains a core element of Indonesian culture and is worn on a daily basis, not just for formal events.

Over the centuries, Batik has come to embody a symbolic philosophy, as well as a true means of expression, courtesy of the traditional designs used, which have a different meaning according to the shape or elements they represent. As such, Batik varieties go from Parang Rusak, reserved for royalty and nobility, to Sawat, a symbol of power, Semen, which evokes the symbols of cosmic energy, and Udan Liris, an emblem of fertility.

Batik reached Europe in the 19th century, becoming a bridge between Eastern and Western culture. Its exotically elegant patterns influenced key styles such as Art Nouveau and in the present day, the world of haute couture.

The Vespa Primavera Batik embraces the universal values of this philosophy in order to create a special edition that is an ode to life and joy, to travel and discovery. Its base color, Batik Green, evokes waves crashing onto tropical beaches. The more rigorous lines call to mind hidden temples, while the Batik decoration unites no less than seven different mystical motifs, originating from the islands of Java, Sumatra and Bali. Among the themes that the seven different Batik patterns that decorate the Vespa refer to are prosperity and the origins of life, strength and longevity, respect for origins, charm and charisma, leadership and wisdom. These values are naturally associated with Vespa, its history and its deep and authentic multiculturalism.

The Batik decorations that adorn the Vespa Primavera are applied using Water Transfer Technology, beginning with the “cravattino”, the characteristic and distinctive frieze on the front, as well as embellishing the opening of the glove compartment on the counter shield and running along the footboard and the Vespa’s flanks. The saddle, in a light brown color with stitching in green tones, adds a natural feel, recalling the colors of sunny beaches.

The matching top box, which can be customized with Batik stickers (available separately), broadens the functionalities of the Vespa Primavera Batik, adding cargo space and completing the aesthetics of one of the most joyful versions of the Vespa in its long history.
