Trike Appeal https://www.motorcyclepowersportsnews.com/trike-appeal-adding-a-unique-showstopper-vehicle-to-your-floor-gets-customers-in-the-door/ Sun, 23 Jun 2024 14:08:15 +0000 https://www.motorcyclepowersportsnews.com/?p=201926 Adding a unique, showstopper vehicle to your floor gets customers in the door.

The post Trike Appeal appeared first on Motorcycle & Powersports News.

]]>

Contrary to popular belief, the sales process doesn’t begin inside the dealership. It begins when a customer shows interest in your products.

Some consumers might spend hours researching the product in question before gracing your dealership with an in-person visit. For others, it’s an impulse — a sudden view of a vehicle or the store itself from the road that prompts a desire to learn more. Once they’re in the door and you’ve greeted them, you’ve just cleared the highest hurdle of the sales process.

But instead of relying on chance to snag a customer, what you need is a certified hook — something unique and eye-catching that is bound to attract attention, even from those who might not otherwise have an interest in your store. But what is that attention-grabber?

Dawn of the Trike

Let’s face it: The motorcycle market is saturated. While there are several different types of bikes to appeal to various riders and tastes, they’re not exactly unique — at least, not unless you add a third wheel.

Think about it: While it would take both your hands and another friend’s to count all the two-wheeled motorcycle manufacturers out there, it would only take one to count those who produce three-wheelers. In addition, each of those OEMs designs a very distinct type of three-wheeler with no two looking at all alike, whether that’s due to the placement of the wheels (are two of them in the front or the back?) or the design of the vehicle itself (does it look like a car, an ATV or a motorcycle?).

The same can be said for Rewaco, a German-based manufacturer that has been designing and building innovative trikes since 1990. In an already niche market, Rewaco luxury trikes set themselves apart not only in looks — using an elongated chassis with a chopper-like appearance in the front and its “bagger” business in the back — but in German-engineered technology.

“Our trikes are unlike anything else available in the market,” says Webb Benninghoven, corporate director of dealer development, sales and market for Rewaco. “People driving by the dealership will stop to see them and new riders are attracted to the stability and comfort.”

Rewaco trikes feature a Turbocharged 1.5-liter Mitsubishi engine, which pumps out 140 horsepower and gets them a top speed of 110 mph. This powerful engine includes a seven-speed CVT fully automatic transmission with independent rear suspension. In addition, the trikes’ unique design offers incredible aerodynamics; a wide stance with a low center of gravity, thanks to its mid-engine; and oversized wheels and tires. The bucket seats come with full back support for the rider and the passenger, giving a 360-degree view. A wide variety of options are available that offer wind protection, audio systems, 25 color choices, and two or three-seater models.

In addition, Rewaco trikes offer the perfect opportunity to give mobility back to the physically handicapped. With their framing and stability, disabled persons are more easily able to maneuver into the seat and ride the trikes. In addition, Rewaco offers customized options for individual solutions to varying degrees of physical disability and will work with customers to convert the vehicles to fit their specific handicaps.

Become an Exclusive, Destination Dealership

Having modernized the trike for over 30 years and made successful sales in Europe, Rewaco has now brought the trikes to the U.S. and is on a mission to import and distribute these vehicles to all 50 states. Given America’s bias towards touring, these trikes present the perfect blend of accessibility, comfort, convenience and style that many tourers are looking for.

That said, while Rewaco is intent on growing in the U.S., its goal is not to become the next Honda or Harley-Davidson. By producing only a few hundred machines a year, Rewaco concentrates not only on providing an exclusive, luxury product that can provide a surprising increase in your profit margins. Prices for Rewaco trikes average in the $40,000 range, meaning that earning up to a 16% margin from selling one trike would take the equivalent of selling several cheaper bikes from the mainstream OEMs.

“We have dealers that have been able to transform their stores from surviving to thriving with our unique vehicles. Adding Rewaco trikes to any dealer’s offerings will attract new customers and create excitement at the store,” Benninghoven adds.

Since Rewaco intends to remain exclusive, that means dealers who sign on get to lock in their territories, limiting competition and becoming the go-to destinations for Rewaco trikes in their areas. Of course, having the product alone isn’t enough, and you need to be able to dangle your hook in front of customers. Rewaco Trikes USA is committed to providing its dealers with the resources and assistance they need to thrive in today’s competitive market by giving them access to a comprehensive suite of marketing tools and resources designed to help attract and retain customers.

“As a dealer, I personally witnessed how excited customers would get when seeing the Rewaco trikes for the first time. And the profitability they brought to our store really improved our bottom line. When the opportunity to work with Rewaco presented itself to me, it felt like the perfect place for me to help other dealers make a difference in their businesses,” Benninghoven concludes.

If you’re ready to get more customers in the door, let Rewaco Trikes do the greeting for you. Visit www.rewacousa.com to check out the lineup and to become a Rewaco dealer today.

MPN Reviews: 2024 Can-Am Ryker Rally and Spyder RT https://www.motorcyclepowersportsnews.com/reviews-2024-can-am-ryker-rally-spyder-rt/ Fri, 07 Jun 2024 13:00:00 +0000 https://www.motorcyclepowersportsnews.com/?p=201383 These three-wheelers are the perfect way to bring new riders, especially females, into the fold.

The post MPN Reviews: 2024 Can-Am Ryker Rally and Spyder RT appeared first on Motorcycle & Powersports News.

One of the issues constantly facing the motorcycle and powersports industry is how to attract more riders. Of course, the lowest hanging fruit would be to bring in more women riders. According to a Motorcycle Industry Council report, only an average of 10% of new motorcycle owners in the past year were female, which means there are plenty of other women to attract to the industry.

One of the biggest hurdles in getting women to ride is overcoming the intimidation factor, whether that’s because of the size of the vehicles, the sense of unease being in open air on the road or because of how technical riding a motorcycle can be.

Hence the importance of International Female Ride Day — an annual event when women riders from across the globe unite to celebrate their love of riding motorcycles and powersport vehicles. This year, IFRD fell on May 4, and Can-Am invited me, a few other female powersports editors, as well as a couple of Can-Am brand ambassadors, to fly out to Southern California and test ride the 2024 Ryker and Spyder three-wheelers.

In true IFRD spirit, we editors were novices when it came to three-wheeled motorcycles, so this was the perfect testing ground, and let me tell you, I had a blast.

Meagan Kusek on 2024 Can-Am Ryker Rally
Getting used to the controls on the Ryker was fairly simple.

The ride started out in Temecula, California, smack dab between Los Angeles and San Diego. Temecula Motorsports graciously hosted us for the morning, helping us to get familiar with the Can-Ams. Of course, these Ryker and Spyder models had literally just rolled off the manufacturing floor and got shipped directly to the dealership, so even the rep showing us the ins and outs had to take a minute to familiarize himself with all the new features.

I did the first leg of the journey on a 2024 Ryker Rally and the second leg aboard the 2024 Spyder RT, so I got a great sense for both an entry-level model and its luxurious cousin. Now, I could rattle off some technical specs about these models that may or may not mean anything to you, but what I’m here to tell you is how it felt riding them.

2024 Ryker Rally

Let’s start with the Ryker Rally.

One of the key points of ease for this model is the fully automatic CVT transmission: no clutch, no shifting, no nothing. For anyone who’s only ever driven an automatic car, this allows you to focus just on the enjoyment of the ride itself. The Ryker even has a reverse function, though it’s operated by a lever near the left foot peg. What’s also a nice transition from driving cars to the Ryker is that the three-wheeled brakes are operated by a foot pedal and not a hand brake, as on a standard motorcycle.

Steering definitely takes some getting used to. You won’t be executing any tight turns, but steering a Can-Am three-wheeler feels more or less like steering an ATV, personal watercraft or snowmobile. In addition, the Ryker does not come with a windshield installed, so prepare to feel the wind beating against you and getting bugs all up in your visor — and for that reason, along with safety, we fully recommend wearing a full-face helmet.

The Ryker’s saddle is comfortable enough for short rides, but after about half an hour, you start to feel the soreness kick in. However, the KYB HPG suspension helps absorb any bumps in the road.

Because this is a sporty, entry-level model, the extra features are pretty bare-bones. Your only cargo storage is a 1.85-gallon glovebox, but it does contain a USB port, which is a plus. The digital display instrumentation features your standard speedometer, tachometer, odometer, trips, distance to empty, engine lights, fuel gauge, clock and riding mode — whether that’s ECO or Rally.

On another note, though this is an accessory Can-Am offers and does not come standard on the Ryker, the model I rode was installed with one of Can-Am’s RAM Mount X-Grip smartphone holders. While the pro is that it can adapt to any size smartphone as well as different angles and directions, I wasn’t impressed with the gripping feature. You have to really make sure your phone is snug, and even when you think it is, it might not be. I experienced the heart-stopping moment of my phone popping loose from the gripper during the ride. Luckily, the wind caused it to land right on my thigh, where I was able to catch it.

Can-Am RAM Mount

However, with all this in mind, the rugged Ryker Rally, which starts at an MSRP of $14,599, is competitively priced with some of your more entry-level bikes.

2024 Spyder RT

In comparison, the Spyder RT was designed as a sport-touring three-wheeler, and at a starting price of $26,599, it has the luxurious features to match it.

This model features a six-speed, semi-automatic transmission, meaning you do have to shift gears, but it’s all done with the touch of a button on the handlebar and no clutch, making it very simple. However, the model does downshift automatically, so if you forget while you’re braking to get into a lower gear, it’s no big deal. In addition, a reverse function is included in the gearshift, so with a combination push and a twist of the throttle, you’re ready to roll out backwards. However, that extra twist is somewhat counterintuitive to shifting into reverse, and figuring out how to do that was probably the hardest part of riding the Spyder.

Meagan Kusek on 2024 Can-Am Spyder RT

The Spyder RT also comes with an adjustable windshield that raises and lowers with the touch of a button. Riding with a windshield creates an altogether different experience. Whereas the wind was coursing through me on the Ryker, I didn’t feel any of it on the Spyder due to the deflection. The pros? No bugs! The cons? I was actually getting a bit hot with the sun beating down straight into my helmet and jacket, and I honestly missed having a bit of the wind cooling me off through my well-ventilated jacket. But, that would actually be preferable on cooler riding days.

Like the Ryker Rally, the Spyder RT operates with a foot-pedal brake, but since this model is affixed with Brembo four-piston calipers, the stopping power is noticeably more instantaneous. In addition, the double-A arms with anti-roll bar and SACHS big-bore shocks make for a much smoother ride than on the Ryker.

One of the luxury, standout features of the Spyder RT is its 10.25-inch touchscreen display with Bluetooth, BRP Connect and Apply Car Play. In addition to the standard information displays, it also includes hour meters, fuel consumption average, gear position, temperature and a radio. A four-speaker sound system pumps out your tunes on the road.

The 2024 Can-Am Spyder RT’s adjustable windshield, touchscreen display and rider control area

Now, what makes this a true sport-tourer are the features made specifically for long rides. The two-passenger seat was far more comfortable than what’s on the Ryker and also includes lumbar support. The Spyder RT also features touring floorboards instead of foot pegs, which makes it easier to rest your feet and legs on a long journey. In addition, the passenger footboards are adjustable. Heated grips and a premium LED headlight round everything off.

As far as cargo area goes, the Spyder RT not only features a 0.36-gallon glove box with a USB port, but also a “frunk” — or a “front trunk” — as well as integrated hard side cases for a total of 31 gallons of storage space.

Conclusion: Perfect for New Riders

All in all, as someone who is new to riding and someone who hadn’t done a 100-mile ride in anything but a car, I felt like I nearly got the full motorcycle experience: bugs on my helmet visor, buffeting winds, leaning into all my turns and just that bit of saddle soreness. The only things I didn’t have to deal with were balancing and using a clutch — but for a novice like me, that was for the best. I got to experience the full joy of the ride without worrying about how to ride. In addition, I didn’t feel nearly as apprehensive as I thought I would be out in the open instead of enclosed in a car. The Ryker and Spyder were both large enough to make me feel seen and sturdy enough to make me feel comfortable driving in traffic.

So, if you’re looking to introduce anyone — especially women — to the world of riding, I highly recommend the Can-Am three-wheelers as a start. Seize the day with these models so you can focus on embracing every moment of the ride — which, after all, is what it’s all about.

The post Polaris Slingshot New 2024 Model Year Lineup appeared first on Motorcycle & Powersports News.

]]>
The Polaris Slingshot is unlike anything else on the road. With an open cockpit; three-wheels; and bold, head-turning style, Slingshot serves as the ultimate platform for self-expression — and this continues with the 2024 Polaris Slingshot lineup.

For 2024, Polaris introduces thoughtful refinements and bold, head-turning graphics across its five-model 2024 autocycle lineup, available in both manual and AutoDrive transmissions.

New Paint and Graphics

Paint color and quality are key to creating a head-turning ride. For 2024, Polaris has a wide range of premium paint options and graphics packages across its entire lineup. While paint options like Moonlight White and Jet Black provide a blank canvas for personalization and self-expression, new colors like Radar Blue Fade, Gold Rush and Purple Lightning deliver a custom-like look straight from the factory. Adding to that, SL and SLR models receive all-new sporty graphics packages set to match the adventurous personality of its driver.

SL Wheels

Keeping with style trends, Polaris updated the SL wheels, and for 2024, all SL models will come standard with a sleek and stylish wheel design in a new midnight charcoal metallic color. For SL customers who are looking to really make a statement, the new design is available to personalize direct from the factory with an upgraded machine accent finish.

Stage 2 Audio Experience

Driving a Slingshot activates all five senses, and for Slingshot owners, the sound is just as important as the style. New for 2024, Slingshot’s Stage 2 Audio Package has leveled up from 100 watts of in-cockpit audio to a booming 200 watts with all-new Rockford Fosgate integrated speakers. The improved system has never sounded better, featuring new speakers built into the side kick panels within the cockpit along with an adjustment to dash tweeters to amplify sound off the vehicle’s wind deflector. Owners buying straight off the dealership floor will now have the best Stage 2 Audio Package ever offered right from the factory. The new Stage 2 Audio Package is standard on 2024 models SL and above and will be added to S models when drivers level-up with RIDE COMMAND.

Slingshot ROUSH Edition

Back by popular demand, Polaris is reintroducing the Slingshot ROUSH Edition. Designed at the intersection of head turning looks and performance lifestyle, the Slingshot ROUSH Edition delivers a racetrack attitude with exclusive ROUSH branding.

Built upon the Slingshot R platform, the Slingshot ROUSH Edition packs the 203-horsepower ProStar engine but adds premium componentry, including Brembo brakes with exclusive slotted rotors, a Slingshot Excursion Top, Sparco pedal covers and an exclusive race car-inspired steering wheel with color accents. Taking stand-out style to an entirely new level, the Slingshot ROUSH Edition features a special graphics package that enhances Slingshot’s distinctive look and performance with unmistakable ROUSH styling and branding, including seats with an exclusive design, a special edition color-matched design for the instrument cluster and blacked-out badging. Manual transmission options feature a ROUSH Block “R” branding on the gear shift knob, while AutoDrive offerings are standard with paddle shifters.

Factory Accessories

Whether personalizing the vehicle for longer, adventurous drives with added comfort and more storage or customizing the style and sound for a personal touch, Polaris offers a wide range of factory accessories. Top selections include heated and cooled Seats, Roll Hoop Stage 3 Audio Kit by Rockford Fosgate, hard and soft tops like the Slingshade and excursion top, and integrated storage bags that seamlessly fit within the Slingshot cockpit.

Utilizing the Polaris “Build Yours” digital configurator on Slingshot.Polaris.com, drivers can customize their Slingshots. After selecting the preferred model, transmission type and paint color, drivers have an array of accessories, including Series Curated Collections for fully built-out inspiration pieces, that can be digitally selected for a real-time build out. Users will experience a fully interactive 360-degree rendering of their current builds, as parts and colors change throughout the build process — all while keeping a running price quote to stay within budget.

New 2024 accessories include the following:

 • Excursion top canvas options: Drivers choosing to add an excursion top to their rides can now add even more customization by selecting one of three new color options. The excursion top canvas is now offered with black, gray, and red Slingshot branding — matching or contrasting with the vehicle’s overall design.
 • Excursion top rear panel: The new excursion top rear panel provides a more enjoyable cockpit experience by minimizing road noise and reducing wind buffeting. The quick-release, rear smoked polycarbonate panels are compatible with models featuring rear lower roll hoop humps and Roll Hoop Stage 3 Audio Kit by Rockford Fosgate.
 • 200-watt audio kit by Rockford Fosgate: While standard on 2024 SL, SLR, R and ROUSH Edition models, the Slingshot Stage 2 Audio System by Rockford Fosgate is available to add to 2024 S models. Owners with a 2021-2023 Slingshot can purchase the speaker-only option and upgrade the system from 100 watts to 200 watts. Can-Am, a renowned name in the powersports industry, has been making waves with its 2024 vehicle offerings. With a rich history spanning 50 years, the brand has undergone remarkable transformations, adapting to changing consumer demands and industry trends.

Can-Am’s journey began five decades ago in 1973 with motorcycles, quickly gaining recognition through the motocross and endurance racing worlds. This early experience laid the foundation for Can-Am’s enduring philosophy: “Win on Sunday, sell on Monday,” as Sandy Scullion, president of parent company Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) puts it. Over the years, the brand’s product lineup has expanded significantly, evolving to meet the needs of a diverse customer base.

Off-Road and Off the Charts

In 2006, BRP took a bold step by rebranding its ATV lineup as “Can-Am,” a move that marked the beginning of an incredible journey and what the brand is known for today. From the introduction of ATVs, Can-Am ventured into three-wheelers, side-by-sides and other off-road units. Today, the brand boasts a solid global presence, sitting towards the top ranks in the powersports industry.

Recently, Can-Am announced its 2024 offerings, including a number of new and exciting models for powersports dealers and enthusiasts to get excited for.

Can-Am’s latest offering, the Maverick R, has been generating significant buzz in the off-road community. While some may wonder if consumers were simply asking for more power, the Maverick R is about more than just raw horsepower. It embodies Can-Am’s philosophy of making no compromises.

“This is a top-of-the-food-chain side-by-side,” Scullion says. “It’s not only about the power — although it is significant with 240 horsepower — but also the dual clutch transmission (DCT), suspension and electronics. It’s an engineering marvel that we’re super proud of.”

The Maverick R employs an optimized air intake design for easy maintenance and next-level performance. Dual fuel injectors feed each of the three cylinders, while the industry’s first electronically controlled wastegate regulates the turbocharger’s boost pressure, maximizing performance throughout the R no matter the conditions.

Smart-Shox, the newest Fox Live Valve Gen 3 technology coupled with Fox 2.5 PODIUM and 3.0 PODIUM shocks, keeps the Maverick R smoothly tracking across the most treacherous of desert chop. Thanks to Fox’s patented electronic main post and base valve, the Maverick R has six times greater compression tuning range than any other vehicle on the market.

“We get input from many different channels when it comes to product development,” Scullion states. “There are technical committees that are created from our dealer network, experts, racers, etc., so our engineering team behind these projects understand what is required to make no compromises.”

With a focus on delivering exceptional experiences for enthusiasts and riders of all levels, the Maverick, Commander and Defender side-by-side lineups have been expanded for the 2024 model year.

Can-Am Commander X3
Can-Am Maverick X3 MAX X rc Turbo RR

The Maverick X3 MAX X rc Turbo RR is the industry’s first four-seat, rock crawling side-by-side. It boasts a 200-horsepower Rotax ACE 900cc turbocharged engine, a 22-inch suspension travel for both front and rear, and 32-inch Maxxis Liberty tires on 15-inch aluminum beadlocked wheels. Packed with front bumpers, underbody protection and a powerful 4,500-pound winch, it’s ready for off-road adventures right off the showroom floor. The Maverick X3 RS Turbo adds affordability to the equation, offering a 135-horsepower engine, Smart-Lok differential and value-packed performance for entry-level enthusiasts.

New in the Commander lineup is the MAX DPS 700 and MAX XT 700, marking the industry’s first mid-horsepower four-seat side-by-sides with a full-size cargo dump box. Powered by a 52-horsepower Rotax ACE 650cc engine, these models offer 12.5-inch front and 13-inch rear suspension travel, ensuring riders can tackle a variety of terrains while getting work done or having fun. The Commander MAX DPS 700 focuses on comfort and utility with features like Dynamic Power Steering, selectable engine modes and a 4.5-inch digital display, while the Commander MAX XT 700 adds sporty elements like a winch, sport roof and LED lighting.

The 64-inch Commander MAX X mr 1000R packs a punch with a 100-horsepower Rotax 976cc naturally aspirated engine; 14 inches of suspension travel; and mud-ready features, such as an intake snorkel kit, high-positioned 4,500-pound winch and fender flares to keep the fun clean.

The Defender lineup expands with the introduction of the Defender XT HD7, featuring a dependable 52-horsepower Rotax ACE 650cc engine. This workhorse is equipped with practical amenities, including a bolstered bench seat, HMWPE full skid plate, 4,500-pound winch, XT front bumper and a full hard roof, making it the perfect companion for a range of tasks.

Triple the Fun with 3 Wheels

On the three-wheel front, Can-Am continued to make its vehicles accessible and convenient for riders — an important part of their three-wheel philosophy from the get-go.

“We always have news for every product category, and this year, the big news was about the 10.25-inch screen we now have on the Spyder F3 and RT models,” Scullion notes.

The models will now feature an all-new 10.25-inch color touchscreen with Apple CarPlay. This technology will be woven into the existing BRP Connect platform and will allow iPhone users to use Apple CarPlay and all its compatible apps. The Spyder F3 models will all receive updated LED headlights, providing more visibility when the sun goes down.

As for visual enhancement, Spyder and Ryker models will also feature different colorways, wheels, grills, etc. depending on model.

Bringing Back Motorcycles

Early last year, Can-Am surprised the powersports industry by announcing it would be returning to the two-wheeled segment 50 years later. The two models, the Origin and the Pulse, will both feature electric power.

“The two-wheel business has always been in our mind, but going in electric is our way of going in big. Being electric, it opens the aperture for beginners in this category, as they will be friendly and easy to use — not only in terms of the no clutch and load maintenance, but also in terms of the user friendliness and interface with the gauges,” Scullion notes.

These electric bikes are set to launch in mid-2024, marking Can-Am’s return to the motorcycle market. While detailed specifications for the Origin and Pulse have not yet been disclosed, the company has showcased images of these futuristic-looking models.

Can-Am Origin

Both models will be powered by BRP’s proprietary Rotax E-Power technology, promising impressive speeds, ample horsepower and torque suitable for highway use. They share key design elements, such as distinctive LED headlights, large TFT displays, unique bodywork in white and gray with a yellow panel covering their battery packs, inverted forks, single-sided swingarms and single-disc brakes. The Can-Am Origin, designed as a dual-sport bike, features rally-style bodywork, fork guards and spoked wheels, while the Can-Am Pulse boasts a streetfighter look with cast wheels and a sculpted tank.

BRP emphasizes that these electric motorcycles will incorporate state-of-the-art technology and provide a connected riding experience. They will feature an on-board charger for rapid charging, making them convenient for both home charging and standard Level 2 automotive charging stations. Rotax E-Power technology will play a central role in all of BRP’s electric models across various product lines.

This technology will be woven into the existing BRP Connect platform and will allow iPhone users to use Apple CarPlay and all its compatible apps.

“We are constantly looking to improve the rider experience through innovation,” said Martin Ethier, marketing director, Can-Am 3-Wheel and Motorcycles at BRP. “The introduction of Apple CarPlay is a big step toward that, and it directly addresses feedback we have received from Can-Am owners around the world. Riders will now have a smarter, safer way to stay connected while riding.”

Snapshots: Highlights of a Busy Year for Can-Am

50th Anniversary

2023 marks the 50th anniversary of Can-Am, which has pushed the limits of convention with passion, creativity and a rebellious attitude since the very beginning. It started with winning the International Six Day Enduro and motocross championships, and it has evolved to the introduction of the Can-Am ATV, innovative Can-Am three-wheel vehicle lineup and award-winning Can-Am side-by-side vehicles. Can-Am has always done things its own way, and that will hold true well into the future.

2023 International Female Ride Day

With the largest female ownership in the on-road riding industry at 34% and more than 18,000 members in its Women Of On-Road (WOOR) Facebook group, Can-Am continues to change the face of riding and open the road to women. As part of that, each May, Can-Am participates in International Female Ride Day (IFRD), bringing women from all over the world together to celebrate those who live for the thrill of the ride. This year, Can-Am organized multiple rides around the globe with hundreds of participants riding Can-Am three-wheel vehicles and celebrating the power and freedom of riding.

The Shoe Surgeon Collaboration

Can-Am continues to bring more people into riding by appealing to different audiences. One example of that is the brand’s collaboration with The Shoe Surgeon. The result is three custom Can-Am Ryker three-wheel vehicles along with three styles of Can-Am-inspired riding shoes each pushing the limits of creativity, following themes of “inclusivity,” “heritage” and “the love of the ride.” Ultimately, the vehicles will be used to help raise awareness and money toward fighting intimidation and influencing positive behavior, which is BRP’s global social cause.

Can-Am 3-Wheel Retail Update

Can-Am 3-Wheel continues to grow, with market share gains of 20 percentage points over the last three years in North America, with retail sales more than doubling in the last four years. New riders make up a significant portion, as 61% of recent Can-Am owners are new to the three-wheel category, and 40% of recent Can-Am owners are new to the on-Highway segment (two-wheel or three-wheel).

Looking Ahead: EV Introductions, including Can-Am Pulse and Origin Electric Motorcycles

BRP is committed to offering electric options in all its existing product lines. A rollout of electric vehicle (EV) models is planned over the next few years, with the last product introduction now expected before the end of 2027 instead of 2026 as originally planned.

Furthermore, BRP has announced the upcoming launch of new electric categories, including the return of Can-Am on two-wheel motorcycles with the all-electric Can-Am Pulse and Origin. The product development team is making solid progress, and the construction of the plant in Querétaro, Mexico, is well underway. Can-Am plans to release all specs of these two models and start taking orders next summer, with the first Can-Am motorcycles expected to hit the road before the end of 2024. In the meantime, the team is conducting testing in all possible usage conditions. Early feedback from test riders is that both of these exciting new models deliver a powerful, smooth and thrilling riding experience.

X-OTO has announced the launch of its innovative three-wheel leaning electric motorcycle. This groundbreaking vehicle’s class-leading front wheel drive and patented self-stabilizing mechanism delivers astonishing control, maneuverability, stability and safety while preserving all the fun of leaning into the curves of the road.

X-OTO will begin building its dealer network with select powersports dealers. This effort will be led by Mike Shell, a seasoned powersports industry veteran with extensive background in the industry. Shell brings a wealth of experience cultivating successful sales channels for innovative and disruptive technologies. Our network aims to revolutionize the way people move by offering cutting-edge electric motorcycles that combine style and sustainability through the power of electric propulsion. As the savvy look for better ways to navigate their cities and reduce their commuting costs, we expect to reduce the number of automobiles in urban centers.

“It is a totally different riding experience. The mechanism gives stability in a turn even at lower speed. This means you can lean at the full range no matter what your skill level,” said Huntzinger. “Riding X-OTO feels different. It’s safer than a motorcycle and easier to ride, so it removes the barriers that hold a lot of people back. It’s easier to carry a passenger or cargo than an e-bike, so it should be more useful for most people. In many states, you don’t even need a motorcycle license to ride it.”

X -OTO’s new three-wheel electric scooter features:

 • A top speed of 45 mph with a 3,000-watt brushless hub motor
 • Front wheel drive that delivers better control and stability on the road
 • An advanced modular lithium-ion battery that carries you up to 45 miles on a single charge (based on industry standard testing — see XOTO website)
 • An optional second battery that can be swapped out in a moment to extend your range
 • A spacious and ergonomic seating position that can support up to 350 pounds
 • LED headlight/taillight, USB port and storage rack
 • Optional: geo-tracking, geo-fencing, Bluetooth sound system and more to come.

X-OTO’s three-wheel electric scooter is available for individual and fleet orders now, with prices starting at $7,499 and deliveries to California, Arizona, Utah and Nevada scheduled to start in June 2023. Visit xotoinc.com for more information and to reserve yours today.
