Merlin has expanded the Explorer Collection for spring/summer 2023, venturing into laminated “adventure-style” clothing for the first time.
The two new jackets and pair of trousers are available in retailers now.
Solitude Jacket
The Solitude jacket leads the launch. Utilising AquaSeal+ laminated waterproofing, Solitude carries a distinctive touring style that has been developed to be as lightweight as possible. It features D3O LP1 shoulder and elbow protectors as well as a D3O Viper Stealth Level 1 back protector and has ballistic reinforcements over the limbs. There are also pockets for D3O’s split CP1 chest protectors, if required. Solitude is CE certified overall to EN17092 Level AA.
Elsewhere, Solitude includes a multitude of pockets both inside and out for carrying items, a removable neck guard and multiple adjustment points. A zip-out 125-gram thermal lining and large chest vents are included for weatherproofing.
Solitude will launch with an RRP of £379.99/€499.95/$529 in black/grey, ice/blue or ice/grey in sizes S to 5XL.
Sayan Jacket
Offering riders an adventure-heritage blend, the Sayan jacket features classic leather overlays to the shoulders and elbows in a classic British four-pocket design.
Featuring the same AquaSeal+ laminated waterproofing, Sayan also incorporates a zip-out 125-gram thermal lining as well as front and rear ventilation points for wearability in a wider range of climates. Pre-fitted with D3O LP1 armor to the shoulders and elbows and a D3O Viper Stealth back protector, Sayan can also accommodate its split CP1 chest protectors too, if required. Overall, Sayan receives a CE rating of AA when tested to EN17092.
Multiple pockets on the front, rear and inside of the Sayan provide plenty of space for carrying items, while fit adjustment points at the cuff, forearm, bicep, hem and waist allow riders to obtain a personalised fit.
Sayan will launch with an RRP of £349.99/€459.95/$449 in black, forest green or khaki in sizes S to 5XL.
Condor Trouser
Perfectly matching with the Solitude and Sayan jackets, the Condor trouser can connect up with the short or long zippers and has the same high-quality AquaSeal+ laminate outer shell.
They’re fitted with D3O LP1 knee and hip armor and CE approved to Level AA when tested to CE EN17092.
A removable 125-gram thermal lining and ventilation points on the thighs allow for the Condors to be worn in a variety of conditions. A pre-curved knee provides a more comfortable fit straight away, while calf and ankle adjustment points allow for easy access for large adventure-style boots.
The Condor trousers will launch in black only with an RRP of £279.99/€399.95/$399 in sizes S to 5XL, with short and regular leg lengths available.
