Go big, or go home! In response to customer requests, outdoor and powersports gear innovator Giant Loop has expanded its popular Cactus Canteen drinking water reservoir collection with the addition of 3- and 5-gallon versions. Expedition-ready Cactus Canteens safely transport essential hydration for outdoor adventures in rugged, flexible, collapsible containers built for the demands of off-road exploration. Weighing less than 1.5 pounds when empty, Cactus Canteens roll up when not in use, dramatically reducing both the weight and bulk of rigid water containers.
A double-layered construction protects a tough, food-grade BPA-free water bladder inside of a highly abrasion-resistant outer shell that can be secured to overland rigs, 4x4s, UTVs and other vehicles. The new 3- and 5-gallon Cactus Canteens feature heavy-duty hardware and a 2-inch-wide webbing handle for hanging, carrying and securing the rolled, empty drinking water reservoirs. Large, reflective webbing daisy-chain loops accommodate ratchet straps and tie downs to anchor the Cactus Canteens for the roughest, most extreme off-road terrain. Webbing handles on each side of the 3- and 5-gallon Cactus Canteens make it easy to carry, pour and fill the reservoirs.
The entire Cactus Canteen collection (1-, 2-, 3- and 5-gallon capacities) includes a convenient quick-connect hose with valve to dispense water for washing or drinking, and the universal connector accepts many popular hydration accessories, such as a hydration pack drink tube or showerhead attachment. When not in use, the hose tucks inside a zippered opening to keep it clean. For filling and dispensing, the Cactus Canteen hangs from an adjustable strap, which also holds the empty water bag in a space-saving roll. The easy-filling wide-mouth cap is compatible with many popular water filters.
High-visibility reflective daisy chains integrate with Giant Loop’s new Overland Sling spare tire gear platform, packing systems and other solid connections to securely anchor the Cactus Canteen to any vehicle without it sliding out from under straps. In keeping with Giant Loop “go light, go fast, go far” design approach, the Cactus Canteens weigh just ounces when empty, and they are backed by the company’s limited lifetime warranty.
The 1- and 2-gallon Cactus Canteens were recognized by Gear Junkie as one of 15 “Best in Show” products when launched at the 2022 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) automotive tradeshow. The SEMA Show, with over 140,000 registered attendees, thousands of display vehicles, more than 1,800 vendors and well over a million square feet of exhibits, is one of the largest tradeshows in the U.S. “Building on its great line of soft fuel storage solutions for motos, UTVs and 4x4s, Giant Loop has now developed a line of water storage containers,” wrote Gear Junkie’s Bryon Dorr.
