Ducati announced the arrival of the XDiavel Black Star to the United States for 2021 in a limited number of 50 units. Each unit will be individually numbered to signify the exclusivity: 1 through 50.
“Following overwhelming interest in the new Diavel and XDiavel models, we will bring the XDiavel Black Star to the U.S. in a limited number,” said Jason Chinnock, chief executive officer of Ducati North America. “The XDiavel combines Ducati’s experience in performance and technology into a power cruiser that’s remarkable in both engineering and aesthetics, and which will satisfy a demand we continually see for exclusive, limited-edition bikes.”
The new XDiavel Black Star demonstrates the sporty side of the Ducati cruiser, with livery and equipment inspired by the world of sports cars. The dedicated livery alternates matte grey and black with elegant touches of red. On XDiavel Black Star, no detail has been overlooked: the red engine head covers are a reminder of the 100% Ducati soul, with dedicated lightened forged wheels, while the seat, enriched with a high-grip suede fabric, recalls the premium, sportiness of the brand.
The beating heart of the XDiavel Black Star is the Testastretta DVT 1262. The engine is capable of delivering 152 hp at 9,500 rpm with maximum torque of 92.9 ft lb (126 Nm) delivered at 5,000 rpm.
The new XDiavel Black Star’s standard equipment includes ABS Cornering and Traction Control. The sporty character of the bike is also underlined by the Power Launch which ensures lightning fast starts. This electronic equipment allows riders to express the performance of the bike with sophisticated electronic safety protocols to best protect the rider. Also featuring three Riding Modes (Sport, Urban, Touring) that allow the rider to shape the performance character of the bike according to their particular preference and mood. Everything is intuitively managed through the handlebar controls and the elegant 3.5-in. color TFT dashboard.
The arrival of the limited XDiavel Black Star further enhances the power cruiser range for 2021, which also includes the addition of the new XDiavel Dark for North America. Pricing for the XDiavel Black Star in the United States will start at an MSRP of $25,995. Canadian MSRP for the XDiavel Black Star will be $28,995 with availability in U.S. and Canada Ducati dealerships starting April 2021.
